Karren D. Allen graduated cum laude from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas, in December 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. During her time at Paul Quinn College, she was honored as Miss Paul Quinn College in 1988, featured in Ebony Magazine in April 1989, and was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in November 1987.

Karren has been married for 33 years and is the proud mother of four children—three sons and one daughter. She has worked for 20 years at NTT DATA and is an active member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Additionally, she contributes her time and leadership to the Alpha Alpha Nu Omega Graduate Chapter of Williamson County, the Pearls of Excellence Foundation, and the Paul Quinn College National Alumni Association. Karren is dedicated to enhancing, equipping, and empowering communities through educational advancement, health and wellness, and economic empowerment. She actively supports programs that empower students, engage the community, and create opportunities for lasting impact.

Passionate about leadership and mentorship, Karren believes that effective leadership begins with character and is demonstrated through consistent action. She strives to lead by example, guided by Christian values, integrity, a strong work ethic, and genuine compassion for others. She emphasizes fostering a culture of inclusion where every individual feels valued and heard, and through her service and alumni work, she inspires and empowers students and community members alike.

Karren enjoys reading, walking, and working jigsaw puzzles. One of her favorite scriptures is: “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)
