Bobby WhitakerAlpha Class HonoreeFor Bobby Whitaker, Service Above Self is more than a motto; it is the way he chooses to live each day. Giving back through faith, education, and community engagement is at the heart of everything he does. As a proud member of Concord Church, Bobby remains actively involved in outreach efforts that support and uplift the local community. Whether volunteering, organizing events, or simply showing up to serve, he finds true joy in being part of something greater than himself. He is also a lifelong member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as Collegiate Advisor for Paul Quinn College. In this role, he leads recruitment, fosters engagement on campus, and collaborates closely with college leadership. One initiative he is especially proud of is the Bigger Better Business program, which has contributed over $1.5 million in Black dollars to support and strengthen minority-owned businesses in South Dallas, a lasting economic impact for the community. A proud Paul Quinn College alumnus of the Class of 1995, Bobby continues to give back through community engagement and Homecoming planning efforts. He works alongside fellow alumni to support service initiatives, including the D9 partnership that helps stock the PQC food pantry, as well as annual scholarships that provide opportunities for students to pursue their dreams. For Bobby, service is about showing up, staying involved, and using what he has been given to make life better for others, a mission he continues to embody with pride and purpose. |
