Kendra Sanders Beta Class Honoree Kendra Sanders, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Paul Quinn College, Class of 2004, where she attended on a volleyball scholarship. She later earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 2008 and obtained her Principal Certification from Lamar University in 2012. Early in her career, she served as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Paul Quinn College (2004–2007), where she emphasized academic accountability and student development. Her professional journey has been rooted in building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families while supporting the overall success of the school community. Kendra is a dedicated educator and accomplished school leader with over 21 years of experience in education. She currently serves as the Academic Associate Principal at Centennial High School in Burleson ISD, where she is recognized for her collaborative leadership and commitment to fostering a positive and supportive school culture. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator, bringing a well-rounded perspective to educational leadership. Ms. Sanders centers her work on ensuring every student experiences a meaningful and memorable educational journey while empowering educators to expand their leadership capacity. In recognition of her leadership and impact, she was honored as the 2023–2024 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 11 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. Beyond her work in education, Kendra Sanders is deeply committed to community service. She has mentored underprivileged youth, volunteered to serve the homeless during the holidays, and dedicated countless hours to the Live Thankfully organization, which provides Thanksgiving meals to families in need. She also played an instrumental role in establishing a partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank to place a campus food pantry at a school where she served as an administrator, helping support students and families facing food insecurity. Kendra was initiated into the Arlington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Spring 2009, where she has served on multiple committees and held the role of Assistant Financial Secretary from 2018–2020. Her commitment to serving others continues to create a lasting impact by inspiring those around her to grow, collaborate, and strive for excellence. |
