Anthony Ray Harper

Beta Class Honoree


Anthony Ray Harper, Class of 1986, is a dedicated educator, pastor, and servant leader whose life reflects an unwavering commitment to faith, excellence, and community impact. He sharpened his leadership abilities as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Lambda Lambda Chapter, where he was part of the charter line (Fall 1982).

A proud alumnus of Paul Quinn College, Harper devoted forty years to the field of education, retiring in May 2025. His distinguished career included numerous leadership roles within Dallas ISD, where he served as an Instructional Lead Coach in Mathematics and Science, a Campus Instructional Coach, a classroom educator, and an athletic coach. Beyond the district, he extended his influence through service on the Board of the Texas Staff Development Council and as a member of the National Staff Development Council National Conference Steering Committee.

In ministry, Harper has faithfully shepherded congregations for more than thirty years and currently serves as Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. His leadership also reaches beyond the pulpit through his longstanding work with the New Millennium Youth Crusade Convention, where he has served as Dean of Curriculum and, since 2009, as President.

Known for his quiet strength, consistency, and dedication to developing others, Harper’s influence spans classrooms, churches, and communities alike. Often working behind the scenes, he embodies selfless service, steadfast leadership, and a genuine heart for people. Through his life and work, he continues to build lives, strengthen communities, and reflect the enduring Quinnite spirit.
