Apryl Washington Beta Class Honoree A proud graduate of Paul Quinn College, Class of Spring 1997, she is a dedicated educator, mentor, coach, and community leader committed to empowering youth and strengthening communities across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. For decades, she has served students both inside and outside the classroom, making a lasting impact through education, athletics, and mentorship. In 2017, she founded Statuesque Queens SC, an organization focused on community service, leadership development, and mentoring young women. Through this platform and other outreach initiatives, she has organized and participated in numerous charitable efforts throughout the DFW area, including Feed the Homeless events, coat drives through Hanging Love, back-to-school drives, and laptop giveaways for students in need. She is also the founder of the nonprofit organization Heel Your Sole, which provides gently worn shoes to local shelters and organizations such as Buckner Children’s Home, ensuring that underserved individuals have access to basic necessities. As a mentor, she has gained recognition for transforming the lives of young people. One notable success story includes guiding a young woman once labeled a “menace to society” from high school to enrollment at Jarvis Christian College, reflecting her deep belief in the potential and promise of every student. In education and athletics, she has built an exceptional record of success. She currently serves as Science Chair and Swim, Softball, and Cheer Coach at Roosevelt High School, and holds the distinction of being the most winning coach in Texas with 209 first-place trophies. Her impact is equally strong in the classroom. As of March 2, 2026, her students achieved the second-highest Mock Biology scores under Townview Magnet, with 113 of 118 students passing, demonstrating the power of effective instruction, mentorship, and student support. Through education, mentorship, athletics, and community outreach, she continues to inspire and uplift the next generation while making a lasting impact across the Dallas community. |
