Cedrick LaSane

Beta Class Honoree

Cedrick LaSane, a proud graduate of Paul Quinn College, Class of 1999, is a seasoned public servant and housing leader whose work has transformed access to safe, stable housing for thousands of families across Houston and the Gulf Coast region. As Assistant Director of Single-Family Programs for the City of Houston, he leads critical initiatives spanning home repair, down payment assistance, disaster recovery, and affordable housing development.

Under his leadership, these programs have expanded pathways to homeownership for low- and moderate-income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, closing housing gaps and strengthening neighborhood stability throughout the city. His work does more than manage programs; it restores security, dignity, and opportunity to families seeking a foundation for generational progress.

Cedrick currently oversees more than $295 million in active housing resources, including substantial grant, TIRZ, and disaster recovery funding tied to Hurricane Harvey, Winter Storm Uri, and other major events. Previously, he administered $400 million in disaster recovery programs for the City of Galveston and coordinated large-scale recovery efforts across 13 counties in partnership with state agencies.

His leadership is grounded in a deep foundation of financial accountability that began during his time at Paul Quinn College, where he worked with Comerica Bank–Dallas and later served as a reconciliation auditor with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. That early experience shaped a career defined by integrity, transparency, and service.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning finance, program management, and construction oversight, Cedrick embodies the principles of responsible leadership—stewarding public trust while creating tangible, life-changing impact for families and communities across Texas.
