Dorsha Blackburn

Beta Class Honoree

Dorsha Blackburn, a native of Dallas, Texas, continued her education at Paul Quinn College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Class of 2023. Earlier, in 2006, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Management from Dallas Baptist University.

Dorsha was raised with a strong belief in serving others through volunteering, generosity, and compassion. As she grew in her walk with Christ, her desire to work as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23–24) deepened. She instills these same values in her two daughters, Zoe and Hannah.

Professionally, Dorsha Blackburn has touched lives in many roles, including sales consultant, executive assistant, and supervisor for a government agency. She discovered her true calling while working as a clerk in the Special Education Department at Dallas CAN, which led her to continue serving students as a lead teacher and department chair with the Dallas County Juvenile Department, where her passion for helping youth truly ignited.

Committed to education and lifelong learning, Dorsha obtained her Texas Teacher Certification and currently serves as a Special Education Teacher with Dallas Independent School District (DISD), where she finds joy in supporting and nurturing the growth of her students. Continuing her professional development, she has returned to Dallas Baptist University as a student in the Educational Diagnostician Alternative Certification Program, further equipping herself to serve students with special needs and support fellow educators in the field.

Dorsha demonstrates servant leadership through active involvement in numerous ministries and community organizations. She has served with Inspiring Body of Christ (IBOC) and Barbara Calloway Ministries, as well as community organizations including Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, St. Philip’s School and Community Center, and the Cedar Hill Track Club. She also volunteers with the Oak Cliff Veggie Project, serves as a parent volunteer with Dallas Independent School District, and is an active Texas A&M Aggie Mom.

Dorsha currently worships and serves at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church, always ready to lend her time and talents wherever she is called to serve.
